Author: There have been many cars that have appeared in television of movies over the years this each person will have their favourite list for different reasons, this is my top 5 most memorable cars.
5. Lotus Esprit – Spy Who Loved Me
There have been many good bond cars over the years but the one that stands out the most has to be the Lotus Esprit from the film The Spy Who Loved Me. Not only was the car stylish for its time it was equipped with a cement sprayer, surface to air missiles, torpedoes, depth chargers and underwater smoke courtesy of Q. All these gadgets seem to be standard on many of the bond cars, but none of the others are able to transform into a fully submersible submarine which really sets this little British car apart from the rest.
4. Bat Mobile – Batman
Batman is synonymous with cool gadgets and cars each time there has been a new movie or series the car has been reinvented. The 1955 Lincoln Futura from the 60s tv show was a classic but none of the cars look as sleek or impressive as the Batmobile featured in the Tim Burton movies Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. This custom car was the creation of Anton Furst a 20ft long minimalistic design with sweeping wheel arches and fins and a giant turbine that all combined to give the car a menacing yet sexy look. Like all batmobiles it featured machine guns, a grappling hook to enable 180 turns, missiles, oils slick dispenser and a shielding system that prevented anything from tampering with the vehicle whilst unattended.
